Rocoto or locoto is a variety of species Capsicum pubescens. It is an extremely hot, medium size round chili pepper, common in Peru, Bolivia, Northern Chile, Northern Argentina, and Ecuador.

Rocoto has thick flesh like bell pepper, and heat level ranged at 50,000-250,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Unit).
