Jasmine rice is a long grain variety of rice that is sometimes known as Thai fragrant rice. It has a nutty aroma and a subtle pandan-like (Pandanus amaryllifolius leaf) flavor caused by 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline. Jasmine rice is originally from Thailand. When cooked, Jasmine rice grains will cling, but it is less sticky as it has less amylopectin.
