Arundo is a stout, perennial grasses from the family of Poaceae. Arundo donax ( Giant Reed, Giant Cane, Spanish Cane ) is one of the two or three species in the genus which is widely grown. It is not a plant for small garden as it can grow to about 5m high and spread 1.5 - 1.8m across.

Arundo is an evergreen grass with attractive seedheads and bamboo-like foliage. It is native to the Mediterranean region east to India, China and Japan. Arundo needs sun and moist soil. It propagates through seed in spring and division in spring.

Arundo is easy to grow as it is trouble free from pests and diseases.
